BBWR Welcomes New Members

The Brass Band of the Western Reserve is thrilled to welcome several new members to the band.

Eric Litschel, Ron Aulet, Candice Stalczynski, and Jacob Provino.

Eric Litschel is a 2008 graduate of the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. He is a full-time machinist and plays in many community bands, orchestras, and ethnic brass bands throughout Northeast Ohio.

Ron joined his first band as a Tuba Player in the 7th Grade at Niles Middle School. When he got to high school he played tuba, trombone, and then euphonium and played in the Youngstown Stambaugh Youth Concert Band from his Sophomore year until he graduated high school. Ron took a few years off from play when he deployed to Afghanistan in 2009-2010 then joined the 338th Army Band in Columbus, Ohio in 2011. He played with them all over the United States on euphonium, tuba, and trumpet. Ron attended Youngstown State University going for Music Education until 2015 when he started to focus more on his army career. He is now the Section leader of euphonium in the 198th Army Band out of Rochester, NY and has played in over 8 different community bands over the last 12 years.

Candice Stalczynski is a tuba player from Akron, Ohio, studying music education at the University of Akron. She is a proud alumni of Tau Beta Sigma (Music Sorority) and is an upcoming musician in her community. She spends a lot of her time practicing, working, or dog-sitting. Music is a huge part of Candice’s life and she is incredibly thankful to be performing with the Brass Band of the Western Reserve.

Jacob Provino, is a junior music education major at Youngstown State University, studying tuba.

We are also happy to welcome back to the band Jillian Ochsendorf and Jarret Ochsendorf who are both home for the summer from college.

Welcome to all our new and returning members.
